Industrial pipe couplings join the piping connections specified by each product. Browse full and half coupling configurations, including listings identified by black, galvanized, merchant or API-related descriptions.
Use the complete coupling specification
Match nominal pipe size, thread or connection standard, material and the stated class or dimensional designation. Product labels such as merchant or extra-heavy should not be converted into an assumed working-pressure rating.
Confirm the applicable specification for the fluid, temperature and installation. These piping components are distinct from detachable hydraulic couplers and hydraulic tool fittings.
Read material, wall designation and thread details together
Pipe couplings join specified pipe interfaces. A nominal size without the product's material and construction designation is an incomplete purchase description. Distinguish standard, extra-heavy and other listed forms using their actual product specifications rather than converting the wording into an assumed pressure limit.
Prepare a coupling purchase description
- State the nominal pipe size and whether the ends are the same size.
- Identify the required thread or connection specification.
- Include material and finish where required by the service.
- Carry over the project specification or documented class/wall designation.
- Confirm operating pressure, temperature and media requirements separately.
For plant piping repairs, use markings and records from the existing line to identify the required component. An approximate tape measurement on a corroded fitting is not enough to establish its nominal size, wall designation or thread form.
Does extra heavy mean the coupling suits any high-pressure service?
No. Use the applicable product specification and service limits. A wall description alone does not establish pressure-temperature suitability.
Can black and galvanized finishes be substituted freely?
Use the material and finish required for the medium, environment and project specification. Do not substitute solely because nominal dimensions match.
Other connection forms are grouped under pipe and hydraulic fittings.
