Browse carbon steel ball valves, including listings identified with carbon steel bodies and stainless steel components. Choose by connection style, construction and the required piping specification.
Read the complete materials designation
Confirm which components are carbon steel and which are stainless, then review the seats and seals. Two-piece, three-piece, threaded and flanged configurations have different installation and dimensional requirements.
Check the manufacturer's pressure-temperature limits rather than comparing WOG numbers directly with flange classes. Browse all ball valves to compare other body materials.
Read mixed-material descriptions component by component
A carbon steel body with stainless ball or stem is a specific construction, not an all-stainless valve. Identify the body, trim, seats and packing independently. This distinction matters when the purchase specification calls for particular wetted materials or environmental protection.
| Comparison item | Purchase detail |
|---|---|
| Body and ends | Material grade, construction and connection type |
| Ball and stem | The actual trim specification rather than a broad “CS/SS” abbreviation |
| Seats and seals | Suitability for the medium and full temperature range |
| Rating | Product-specific pressure-temperature information |
| Dimensions | Face-to-face or overall length, operator clearance and installation access |
On a piping-rack replacement, record the flange or thread standard from the existing line, not just the valve size. A flanged class designation and a threaded WOG figure describe different rating systems and should not be ranked by comparing the printed numbers alone.
Does stainless trim make the whole valve corrosion-proof?
No. The body and other components retain their own material limitations. Evaluate the entire construction and environment.
Can a higher printed pressure number replace a flanged-class valve?
The proposed product must satisfy the piping specification, end connection, dimensions and pressure-temperature conditions. A larger isolated number does not establish equivalence.
What should I include with a carbon steel valve inquiry?
Provide medium, temperature range, working/design conditions, size, end standard, required trim and any project documentation requirements.
