Prepare the compressed-air supply according to the hydraulic pump manufacturer's requirements. This collection includes filter, regulator, lubricator and dryer listings for specified equipment applications.
Build the inlet-air arrangement the pump requires
Check air-flow capacity, inlet pressure, connection size and the required filtration or moisture control. A lubricator is appropriate only when the equipment instructions call for it; accessory combinations are not universal.
Identify replacement assemblies by complete part number. Browse air hydraulic pumps for the pump specifications that determine inlet-air needs.
Prepare compressed air for the selected pump
Air-side filters, regulators, lubricators and dryers perform different jobs. Choose the treatment required by the pump instructions and by the actual air supply. Combining every available device is not automatically a better installation.
| Device function | What it addresses | Selection detail |
|---|---|---|
| Filtration | Contamination carried by the air supply | Filtration specification, flow and service access |
| Regulation | Controlled pressure delivered to the pump | Inlet limits, adjustment range and flow capability |
| Lubrication | Oil mist where the air motor requires it | Specified lubricant and permitted delivery method |
| Drying | Moisture management | Airflow, pressure and the dryer's operating conditions |
On a shared plant air line, consider pressure loss through the preparation equipment and hose at operating flow. A regulator's no-flow reading does not describe the supply while the motor is running. Position serviceable items where inspection and maintenance are practical.
Can an air regulator limit hydraulic output pressure directly?
It controls the pneumatic inlet. The relationship to hydraulic output depends on the pump design, and it does not replace the specified hydraulic pressure-control or protection arrangement.
Should I add oil to every pneumatic pump supply?
Follow the pump's own lubrication instructions. Some designs have different requirements; do not apply another air motor's maintenance routine by assumption.
Are these filters suitable for hydraulic oil?
No such suitability should be inferred. For hydraulic pressure-line filtration, review hydraulic inline filters and their stated fluid and pressure ratings.
